Privacy Policy

Her Voice ("we," "us," or "our") is a voice-to-text keyboard app that converts your spoken words into written text. By downloading, installing, or using Her Voice, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What Her Voice Does
When you tap the microphone and speak, Her Voice records your audio, sends it to third-party cloud services for transcription and formatting, and delivers the written text back to you.
Audio Processing
Your audio is sent to third-party AI service providers for speech-to-text transcription. Audio is processed in real-time and, to our knowledge, is not stored by these providers after transcription is complete. We do not retain your audio recordings on any server we control. However, we cannot guarantee the data handling practices of third-party providers, and you acknowledge that audio data is transmitted to external services as part of the app's core functionality.
Text Formatting
After transcription, your text may be sent to third-party AI service providers for formatting and polishing — correcting grammar, structuring emails, etc. The text is processed and returned. We do not store your text on any server we control. As with audio processing, we rely on the privacy practices of our service providers and cannot independently guarantee their data handling.
Third-Party Service Providers
Her Voice relies on third-party artificial intelligence services for its core transcription and text formatting functionality. These providers may change from time to time as we improve the app. By using Her Voice, you consent to the transmission of your audio and text data to these third-party services. Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and terms of service. We select providers that represent, to our knowledge, that they do not retain user data beyond what is necessary to process requests, but we are not responsible for their practices.
Additionally, subscription management and payment processing are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never see or have access to your payment information.
Data Stored on Your Device
- Transcription history — Your past transcriptions are stored locally on your device via the app's shared storage. This data does not leave your device unless you choose to share it.
- Settings and preferences — Your chosen format mode, usage count, and app preferences are stored locally.
What We Don't Do
- We do not serve ads
- We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
- We do not collect the IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers)
- We do not sell, share, or rent your personal data to third parties for their marketing purposes
- We do not log keystrokes or read what you type outside of recordings you initiate
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or location
Keyboard "Full Access" Explained
iOS requires keyboard extensions to have "Full Access" enabled in order to use the microphone. This is an Apple platform requirement — without it, the mic button will not work.
What Full Access allows us to do: Access the microphone to record your voice when you tap the mic button, and communicate with our cloud services to process your recordings.
What we don't do with Full Access: We do not log keystrokes, read text fields, access clipboard content, or transmit any data other than your voice recording (only while you are actively recording).
Subscriptions
Her Voice offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not process payments directly and have no access to your credit card or billing details. Subscription terms, pricing, and cancellation are governed by Apple's terms of service.
Children's Privacy
Her Voice is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Data Retention
We do not maintain servers that store your personal data. Audio and text are processed by third-party providers in real-time. Your transcription history lives only on your device — delete the app, and it's gone.
Your Rights
Since your data lives on your device, you have full control. You can delete your transcription history from within the app at any time, or delete the app to remove all local data. If you believe we hold any personal data about you, please contact us and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Her Voice is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Transcription and formatting results are generated by third-party AI services and may contain errors. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying any output before use.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Her Voice and its owners, officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the app, regardless of the theory of liability. Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars ($50), whichever is greater.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Her Voice and its owners, officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the app, your violation of this Privacy Policy, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
Governing Law
This Privacy Policy and any disputes arising from or related to it or your use of Her Voice shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Delaware for the resolution of any disputes.
Severability
If any provision of this Privacy Policy is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that this Privacy Policy shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of Her Voice after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
