Privacy policy
Daymint is an iPhone app for writing one page a day. This policy covers the Daymint app and this website, daymint.app. Daymint is made by Artisan Strategies LLC (“we”).
The short version. Your pages are stored on our servers, so they’re in your account on any iPhone you sign in on. They aren’t end-to-end encrypted, and the people who run Daymint can access them, for example to fix a problem you’ve reported. We don’t sell your pages, we never send them to analytics or advertising companies, and Daymint doesn’t send them to AI services.
What we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Apple or Google, our sign-in provider shares your name and email address (or Apple’s private relay address) with us.
- Your pages. What you write, and the day each page belongs to.
- Your Her Voice journal, if you had one. If you used Her Voice, the journal entries in your account stay there, including any voice recordings. Daymint shows their text as finds.
- Purchases. Whether you’re a Copper, Silver or Gold supporter, and Apple’s transaction identifiers. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details.
- A device identifier. A random identifier the app creates and sends with each request, so our server can recognize your device.
- Usage and device data. Which features you use, recorded as event names and counts, never as page text. Also your app version, device model, operating system, language, approximate location from your IP address, and crash reports.
Notifications about finds are scheduled on your iPhone. We don’t receive a push token.
How we use it
- To keep your pages in your account and bring them back to you as finds.
- To run supporter subscriptions and their extras.
- To provide support, fix problems, and keep the service secure. People on the Daymint team may look at your pages when that’s needed, for example to investigate a problem.
- To understand how Daymint is used and improve it, from usage events.
- To send emails you’ve agreed to receive.
- To measure our advertising, as described below.
We don’t sell your personal information or your pages.
Who helps run Daymint
These providers handle data for us: Railway (hosting and database), Clerk (sign-in), Apple (purchases and Sign in with Apple), Google (Sign in with Google, and Firebase for analytics and crash reports), PostHog (product analytics), Meta (advertising measurement) and Loops (email). Each handles data under its own terms, including how long it keeps data. Your pages go only to the providers that host and store them.
Advertising measurement
The app tells Meta and Google when certain things happen, such as installing or opening the app, creating an account, and purchases. These events never include your pages. Meta and Google use them to measure and improve our ads, and may combine them with other information they hold under their own policies.
The app doesn’t ask for permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and doesn’t receive your device’s advertising identifier.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account and pages while your account exists.
You can delete your account in the app: open Settings and tap Delete account. That deletes your account and every page, including any Her Voice entries and recordings, from our main database and storage, and from your phone. You can also email us from your account’s email address and we’ll delete it for you. Copies may remain for a limited time in backups, logs and our providers’ systems.
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a supporter subscription; cancel it in your Apple subscriptions. We keep records of App Store purchases, no longer linked to your account, for accounting.
To get a copy of your pages, or to ask about or correct the data we hold about you, email us.
Security
We use common safeguards, such as encrypted connections between the app and our servers. No system is perfectly secure, and your pages aren’t end-to-end encrypted.
Children
Daymint isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll take reasonable steps to address it.
This website
daymint.app uses Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement tags. They record page views, clicks to the App Store, campaign parameters (such as utm_source, gclid, gbraid and wbraid), and browser and device information, and may use cookies or local storage to do so. We use this to measure our marketing. You can clear cookies or use your browser’s privacy tools to limit it.
Her Voice
Daymint replaced the Her Voice app. If you still use a version of Her Voice before 3.0, the Her Voice privacy policy describes it.
Changes
We may update this policy as Daymint changes. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date.
